aküma (Azri Syafiq) is a Singaporean singer-songwriter known for his emotive, genre-blending sound. His music fluidly mixes multiple genres including lo-fi, alternative indie, R&B, and bedroom pop, creating intimate tracks often likened to the introspective styles of Joji, Rex Orange County and Matt Maltese. aküma’s songs are defined by their honesty, turning everyday experiences into deeply personal musical reflections.
He began writing songs at just 5 years old, revealing a deep-rooted passion for music from a young age. At 17, he was selected for the VOICES Music Mentorship Programme, where he refined his craft under the guidance of acclaimed local artist Jean Seizure.
As a self-produced artist, aküma values the freedom to shape his sound authentically, while also embracing the collaborative spirit of music-making. Whether working independently or with others, he remains committed to creating songs that resonate, inspire, and connect on a deeply human level.
